Why Our Antifreeze Matters

Propylene Glycol Protection

Greeneway RV uses propylene glycol RV antifreeze. It is alcohol-free, less harsh on rubber seals and plumbing components, and built for RV water systems.

Some cheaper winterization mixtures rely on alcohol. Alcohol can dry out seals over storage season, which is the wrong trade-off when the whole point is protecting your camper.

What We Put In Your Plumbing Matters

Keep It PG

Why Greeneway Uses Propylene Glycol RV Antifreeze

A "-50" label is only part of the decision. Burst protection matters, but so does what sits against your pump, faucets, toilet valve, P-traps, fittings, hoses, gaskets, and rubber seals all winter.

Greeneway's choice

Ethanol-free propylene glycol

Propylene glycol RV antifreeze costs more, but it is the better fit for a camper water system that has to sit protected through a Wisconsin winter.

  • Designed for RV and marine water systems, not automotive cooling systems.
  • Alcohol-free, so it avoids ethanol's drying effect on seals, hoses, gaskets, and rubber parts.
  • Non-flammable compared with alcohol-containing formulas.
  • Less likely to leave the strong taste and odor customers fight in spring.
  • Acts more like protection for the whole plumbing system, not just a cheap liquid in the lines.
The cheap shortcut

Alcohol-based or alcohol-blended antifreeze

Alcohol-based antifreeze can be cheaper and may still advertise a winter burst rating. That does not make it the best choice for every seal and component it touches.

  • Alcohol can dry out rubber seals, hoses, and gaskets during long storage.
  • Dry seals can show up later as toilet valve leaks, pump issues, faucet drips, or fitting problems.
  • Alcohol formulas are flammable and can carry stronger vapor and odor concerns.
  • Some blends vary by product, so "pink RV antifreeze" does not automatically mean premium PG protection.
  • It is usually selected to reduce material cost, not because it is the best plumbing-care option.
Freeze/burst rating is not enough

Two products can both say "-50" and still be very different chemically. Greeneway chooses the formula that is friendlier to the plumbing system, not only the one that keeps water from bursting a line.

Storage contact time matters

Winterization fluid can sit in the system for months. That is why seals, valves, gaskets, and pump parts matter as much as the pipe itself.

The real cost shows up in spring

A cheaper jug is not a win if it helps create a leak, stuck toilet seal, pump problem, or lingering taste that has to be chased after storage.
